@pkafka discusses the trevails of a (former?) Tumblr.
Guys - I’m available if you need any help here.
No, no, no plans. My plans to Cabo fell through, so I am going to sit here.

Israeli Consulate Answers Questions about Hamas... →
my colleague Rachel pointed this out and I’m amazed. Two weeks ago Scott Monty used Twitter to let Ford CEO Alan Mullaly answer questions directly from the public, and today the Israeli consulate is responding to questions about the conflict with Hamas.
Say what you want about Twitter - but this kind of interaction was unthinkable even a year ago, let alone five or ten.

Can someone recommend the best books or classes for an idiot on the subject? Having no ability to make small changes on my blog is becoming infuriating.
The New Year's Eve-Eve Party →
So a lot of people are hating on New Year’s today, and rightfully so. It’s pretty much amateur hour here in NYC, everything is a rip off, and even if you have the good fortune of finding someone to get lucky with, good luck finding a cab.
Believe me, if you haven’t experienced the sheer awesome that is waiting for the F train to come at 3 am on a bright, packed platform with...

I am confused.
Yeah I’ve probably lost a few because of it, but here’s the thing, something that’s often forgotten: Tumblr is more than a social network, it’s a blog platform.
There are people who read my blog (and yours too) who don’t use Tumblr themselves. I use it to share my ideas and life with friends...

Anyone else do a double take on this one yesterday? And then I remembered I was reading the sports section of the Times.
But still. We miss you and your antics Jake.

I guess Noth doesn’t have any big projects in the works. This is really sad. It’s a block away from my apartment, and we just had a great party there last Friday. Great place, great bartenders, good crowd. Sucks.

Dallas Vs. Philly
This is a tough one. I hate Dallas more as a team, but can’t stand Philly fans.
And on that Giant loss, I don’t mind it so much. See you in two weeks.

Should Twitter Add Authority-based Search? →
Sure, but please don’t make it a default. Twitter should continue to add tools that let you search, sort, and find what you’re looking for in as many ways as possible.
Not surprising that the Twitter elite want their tweets to gain even more prominence, but frankly, I think that will only help the people that are already there and hurt the chances of others to achieve that status.

3 Smart Things About Sleeping Late
12:09 pm today… just doing my part.
1 // You may need more sleep than you think. Research by Henry Ford Hospital Sleep Disorders Center found that people who slept eight hours and then claimed they were “well rested” actually performed better and were more alert if they slept another two hours. That figures. Until the invention of the lightbulb (damn you, Edison!), the average person...
